Umami Burger

I've been to Umami Burger in Los Angeles but never actually ate there - I shared and got the food to-go.  It's been a long time since I've had their burgers.  As I'm not a burger aficionado, I can't really vouch on whether it's a fantastic burger.  However, I can only judge based on how I felt afterwards - and I felt darn good!

There is a location of Umami Burger in Anaheim and it's right next door to the Anaheim Brewery.  My friend MH and I have a monthly ritual to see each other once a month, so we decided to have dinner at Umami Burger because neither of us had really been. We had a great experience!

Mama's on 39

In celebration of my friend's 30th birthday, we celebrated with never-ending mimosas and brunch at a place called Mama's on 39, located in Huntington Beach.  Having only been open since 2011, Mama's on 39 was an entirely new establishment for me (my how my Huntington Beach days are behind me!)  The restaurant itself is very casual, with a Thrifty Ice Cream service station right at the front - how fantastic is that?

My friend MH opted for the pomegranate mimosa, which comes with blueberries and mint leaves floating around.  I took a look at the menu and I saw the words "bacon biscuits" and knew this is what I had to have.

The Bruery & Drunken Udder Ice Cream Beer Floats

I've been a big fan of The Bruery Provisions for quite a while, so I'm always curious to see what kind of special events they host.  One evening, I saw an advertisement for beer floats, featuring Drunken Udder Ice Cream.  Upon further research, I found out that Drunken Udder Ice Cream is a local company that specializes in alcohol-infused ice cream.  They were creating special flavors exclusively for The Bruery Provisions event, so I invited a slew of friends out to sample the beer floats on a warm summer evening.
